Goodyear Tire Wins Popular Science Innovation Award

AKRON, Ohio, Nov. 24 – An innovative tire from Goodyear, with elements such as a Fuel-Saving Tread Compound, has been named one of the “100 Most Innovative Products of the Year” by Popular Science magazine.

The Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max has been named to Popular Science’s “Best of What’s New” 2009 list of products in the Automotive Technology category.  The tire is featured in a special section of the December issue, which is available this month, along with special coverage at the magazine’s Web site, www.popsci.com.

Greetings,

I wanted to take a moment to tell you about some wonderful customer service i had. I have recently moved to Wilmington, NC and as any car guy knows it takes time to find a good shop. I called and checked prices and blacks was within a reasonable amount on the tires I wanted versus anything I could find on the internet. Bingo so I found a shop with good prices. When I came by last Saturday to get my cooper zeon tires on the staff was very very helpful. I then asked about sliding an exhaust system in, (hey the wife had approved the tires so why not slide an exhaust system in ). So they put me in touch with John who is a mechanic / exhaust tech who works there and he explained to me some options. I had remebered him from a earlier phone conversation where he discussed at length the lift’s available for my 2007 dodge ram. Jeremy, we met in Sumter a few months ago, and I had mentioned a specific problem we had with a vehicle in Wilmington some time before.  You were unhappy with my comment and followed up with my GM and your store and I wanted to follow up with you and tell you that I had a similar incident this week with a van – it died at the hotel my guys were staying at with a suspected engine failure.
 
I called Jimmy Waters for assistance and from that point on – Jimmy (and possibly his crew) did an absolutely wonderful job for me.  He recognized that his location could not handle the type of failure we had, contacted multiple people in and out of your organization and found a person to repair for us.  In addition he coordinated the towing, the follow up and really made it extremely easy for me to do business with him and ultimately billed it ...[more]

Great Service! We use Black’s Tire and Service for our company vehicle and have done so for several years. They even come out to fix flat tires at our office. I started taking my personal vehicle there for oil changes as well. The customer service is very good and the prices are comparable to other places in the area. I highly recommend Black’s Tire!

Dear Scott,

I just wanted to thank you again for all your help last week. I felt much better about my sons drive back to Georgia, knowing that they were safe. It’s comforting to know that there are businesses out there such as yours, out to take care of customers. When you are in a strange area and you need help, you only hope that you find someone like you. There are so many businesses just out to make a dollar at the customers expense. Your customers in North Carolina are very lucky to have your mechanics working on their cars. I know if I lived closer I would not go anywhere else. I felt very confident at your location that I was not going to pay anymore than I had to, to make the car safe.
