Ricky and Dianne Benton awarded 2015 Tire Dealer Humanitarian Award

Ricky and Dianne Benton received the 2015 Tire Business Tire Dealer Humanitarian Award. Dianne Benton — the first woman to receive the award — and Ricky were presented the award Nov. 2 at the Tire Industry Association’s annual Tire Industry Honors event during the 2015 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas. As part of their recognition, the Bentons also received a special medal symbolizing their efforts in giving back, and Tire Business donated $2,500 to the Lake Waccamaw, N.C.-based Boys & Girls Home of North Carolina., the Bentons’ designated charity. Winter’s on its way, and in many parts of the country that will mean snow and ice. Are your tires ready for winter weather? Tires in Raleigh, NC

Winter conditions and cold weather are tough on all the systems in your car. The battery and starting system, fuel system, suspension and drivetrain are all affected by winter weather. You can up your odds of coming through winter OK, though, if you just observe some basics in regards to your tires. 
  • All four tires should be the same brand, or at least the same tread pattern, type and size. Mismatched tires can result in jittery, “squirrelly” handling that is hard to eradicate.
