A Look at the Goodyear Wrangler AT/S
January 10th, 2017
Ever notice how many pickups and SUVs you see on the road? The light truck and SUV markets have exploded in the last 20 years, and Goodyear’s Wrangler AT/S is a great tire for these types of vehicles.
The Wrangler name has been with Goodyear for a long, long time and the Wrangler AT/S represents the latest innovations in this legendary tire family. The Wrangler AT/S is an on- or off-road all-terrain light truck tire that’s developed for two- or four-wheel-drive trucks. It’s designed for good traction off-pavement on soft soils or mud while offering great handling and road manners, a forgiving ride and low noise on the pavement.
Internally, the Goodyear Wrangler AT/S is designed with two high-tensile steel belts and a polyester cord body, for the best in both ride quality and tough durability. Its tread compound is designed to stay flexible for traction, with a multi-faceted, symmetric tread design.
The tread pattern is formed into aggressive wraparound shoulder blocks and interlocking blocks at the center portion, combining low noise with rugged looks. Dual traction lug channels are self-cleaning, ejecting mud and stones so there’s always a clear section of tread groove to dig in on soft surfaces. Strong lateral notches at the shoulder area help enhance traction on- or off-road in dry, wet or wintry conditions. The Wrangler AT/S is backed by a 60,000 mile treadwear warranty from Goodyear.
Any Goodyear tire purchased at Black’s Tire & Auto Service comes with the full backing of the Goodyear Tire & Service Network. We’re a proud part of that family…and along with full tire warranty coverage, the Goodyear TSN offers nationwide warranty coverage for parts and labor on a wide range of mechanical repairs.
